Tofu and dolls :)

I want to thank you all SO MUCH for your kind words about the hair coloring conundrum. I haven't caved *yet*. I probably won't because the thought of those stinky chemicals makes me ill.....but I would like to have some snappy color on my head. Maybe I'll just buy a fun hat or scarf :)
I've been keeping to my "no candy" (and no meat) diet. I didn't mention the meat part before because I wasn't sure I could do it...but I'm *kind of* giving up meat too. I may still eat it here and there but so far I don't want to. After the pigeon event, I haven't felt like I can eat chicken. So this all brings me to the YUMMY picture shown above! I really enjoy tofu! I have been going to Whole Foods and getting this delicious sesame tofu and a side order of wild rice with cherries and onions. I adore it!!! I am so happy I found the Whole Foods here. There are only a handful in Canada and luckily one is not too far from me. I get my dried mango and other organic foods there too. I even bought all natural cat treats for Lily and Opie. Dried salmon pieces. Neither cat would eat them! LOL! Those silly cats don't know a good thing when they get it! Opie did play with his for a while and toss it in the air and then bury it under the rug when he was done.I'm also making new dolls of my paintings! One is up for grabs on ebay.Have a super week! Talk to you soon! (((hugs)))

Love the new dolls. Do you have them printed?
Do they have backs?

25 years ago I made a bunch of dolls like that. It was before the computer printing and I handpainted each one. It was fun but completely impractical.

HI Dee Dee!
I print them myself off the computer. The back is a decorative fabric.

I like Whole Foods, too. But they don't have them in OK. They don't have nice grocery stores here for some reason. Everyone shops at Walmart. I think I could give up meat before I could give up chocolate. Your dolls are cute. I am back making dolls again.
Have a great week.

Tascha you may never eat meat again, once you make the connection between whats on your plate and the animal it came from, thats what I found and have been veggie for over 16 years now!
Love the dolls by the way!

I miss the great health food stores up in Canada where you could get a plethora of organic, bulk, and alternative foods without spending a small fortune in the process.

I'm with ya Tascha...actually right behind you...seriously thinking about a food overhaul...have you heard of the raw food diet? Look it up on You Tube.

Bonjour Tascha! I have been stopping by your blog regularly but am always too busy it seems to leave comments (cause of slow speed internet ...). How have you been and how is your summer so far in your part of Eastern Canada? Ours here in Southern Quebec is not the best so far, lots of rain and gloomy days but it's ok, summer is summer, Yeah! I love your dolls, they are so different! About food, last time I hate meat was 25 years ago this year! I spent time in Jamaica during winter painting signs for businesses and hotels and the Rasta movement really turned me on the vegetarian lifestyle. About your grey hair, we are in the exact same situation, I guess. Mine has turned almost completely salt & pepper all over with a white streak in front, in a year or so. The thing is I usually have very short boyish short hair but decided I wanted to let it grow. Now I am stucked with longer brown hair in the back and a full grey head in front. So, I am thinking of cutting it again real short and leaving it grey, which is always so pretty on other women, it seems. But grey is bland and unless you have a nice suntan, it kinda me you look pale and sickly. Or start dying it, which I have never done before... Hard decision... Before I go, I have a question for you: Where do you get the home decor background you place your paintings on when posting on eBay? I mean, when you show a suggestion of what a painting could look like in a room...OK! this is my novel-length post for today! Have a great week! And come over when you have a minute! Take care, LuLu

Your dolls are awesome! Great job with no candy. I too am trying to curb my sweet tooth and raisins and banana chips are my new drug of choice :-)

The new dolls are fun. I've almost cut out all red meat. I'm not swearing off it totally. I guess I'm a flexitarian. I'll eat it in a bind but it doesn't appeal to me much. We are suppose to be getting an organic market nearby, the project looks stalled though. I hope it still comes.

Hi Tascha, I have always loved your art and I think its great you go to Whole foods!! I used to work at one when I was a teenager in Dallas Texas. There isn't one where I live now....but I try to make do with a natural food co-op thats here (I also worked at that place haha). That salad looks FABULOUS!!! I wonder how they make that?!?! I had to giggle when you mentioned your cats wouldn't eat the treats, I have the same problem. My cats would rather have some processed canned cat food instead of a piece of actual fish or chicken... They get so excited about it and then sniff and walk away, hehe.
