Pink
I found this wig at a joke shop today. I felt like I needed some colour. The grey hair is getting me down. I have an urge to colour it again. I will try an wait out this urge.
I went to the Toronto Outdoor Art Show this last weekend and was surprised to see how many women with grey hair there were there. (I'm not talking old women either, young ones! One girl even looked like she was in her 20's with grey all in the front of her hair!) I guess "artsy" people are more open to keeping their hair natural. It uplifted me to see so many! I hardly ever see younger women with grey in their hair.
I do miss colour though......
Candy update:
I haven't had any candy in almost 2 weeks! YAY! I've been enjoying the dried mango and raisins :)

I used to have a bit of a sweet tooth myself...it was more for cookies then candy....you know what broke my sweet tooth for me? Of course you don't...that's why I'm going to tell you my secret: LaraBar. They have a website...check them out. You can buy them in more healthier grocery stores...they have them all over the world, so I'm sure they're in a cool place like Toronto. The deal about LaraBars is that they are completely organic, vegan, and raw....and incredibly yummy. They have tons of flavors and everytime I want something sweet---I go for one of those. Done. No more cookies! They're good for you!
Peace & Love.
Hi Tascha~
I just had to respond to your post. I am 43 years old and went prematurely gray in my twenties. After coloring on and off for years, I have left my hair natural. Every few months I go through a stage where I want to color and I resist, but it's hard!! Right now I'm thinking about it but trying to resist! I wanted to send you a picture, but couldn't figure out how to attach a picture.
Anyway, here's to the gray-haired wonder in all of us! And yes, I think we're more creative!! :)
So cute Tascha! You look great in pink! Do whatever makes you happy! I love how my hair feels right after I've had it done, it's like my hair bounces & swishes a lot more that day.
I haven't had time for a haircut, but it was driving me crazy, so I went at it with my bumblebee scissors! lol It is okay, but it didn't swish. :)
You can have grey, black, pink, or even purple hair...I'm still going to think you rock! :)

Tascha, just wanted to let you know how I decided to go grey, silver, white, whatever you want to call it.
I went with heavy heavy blonde streaks at first, then over about 2 years, started having dark streaks put in and used my silver as my highlights, I now am pretty much natural with silver in front and dark in the back. I am so happy with it, but I do have this suggestion. Start having it done professionally. That was the hardest thing for me to let go of, doing it myself. The artist in me wanted to use my hair as my canvas.
To get past the urge to color, I use a temporary rinse - Fanci-Ful- that really does shampoo out each time (if you use the light shades), but keep this in mind...no one said you have to stop coloring your hair. You can always decide to go natural at a later date. It really is your hair, and after all, it's just hair. Love the wig idea, by the way. I know this comment is way too long, and please don't feel like you have to publish it. I just wasn't sure how to contact you with my take on this. Enjoy the rest of your week. Hugs. Susan
I've been going gray since I was like 18. But I am vain and color it! LOL. But there are those of us who go gray young. My mom was completely gray by the time she was 30. She has very pretty silver hair now.
And don't even get me started about candy addiciton. But good for you for being candy free for two weeks!
Congrats! On the two weeks with no candy. So far I have gone ONE day. Hey, one day at a time right?
I see shades of Suzi Blu with that wig. I am thinking about the gray thing...I am a transplant patient and I can't use the permanent color and now my hair is thinning. But my gray is white!

Tascha,
My hair is a little gray, mostly on the right side. So,,,, I part it on the left and comb over the gray part! A woman-comb-over!!!
I have an 88-year-old grandma who is just now getting gray hair, but she thinks she has none. No one is breaking the news to her!
I think gray or colored, you have to go with what you love.
I don't want to color my hair because I would rather spend the money on art supplies. That is about the reason for my staying gray!
Keep on painting!! I love your art.

I'm not a good one to tell you what to do. But, I'd wait it out. Just think how long it took you to grow it out. I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but it's so hard to figure out how to blend it in as it's growing out. Mine is really grey and when it grows out next to the brown I look like a skunk! My friend suggested I go blond before I grow it out. Be brave! This coming from a wimp!
Hugs,
Cathie
Tascha, what's your secret. i can't get through the day without a piece of chocolate. Would love to break the habit!
I'm there with you on the gray hair. I'm trying to quit coloring mine but it's oh so hard to do. I want to quit putting all those chemicals on my scalp... Letting the color grow off is a nightmare in itself. Skunk stripe down the center of my head... lol..
From the time you stop coloring it to the time when the last bit of artificial color is cut off is the hardest part of quitting. It's much easier after you get through that to just leave your hair natural. That said, I have to admit that if I returned to the corporate world, I would probably color it again. It's part of the power suit.
Hi Tascha, fresh mango is also very sweet now! And I love all kinds of berries on the market.
Have a wonderful weekend!
ooooh I know your pain with this grey hair business!! I'm already soo sick of coloring my hair...it is the PITS. I like the advice that you should do whatever makes you happy!! Color or grey...you are beautiful:):):)
xox...jenn
You look fab in pink!
Resisting to dry grey hair...I could probably do that.
Resisting Candy, NEVER!
Have a great weekend :)
Ooh cool wig! I'm 43 and I'm getting lots of grey too. When I turned 40, I went out the day after my birthday, and had my hair dyed black on top, and vivid pink (like your wig) on the underneath layers. Haha, I got some looks but I enjoyed my brief midlife crisis.
You could always do streaks of colour in the grey. Maybe it is about allowing ourselves to do what we wish, you know choice and all that.
In my case I think it is as much a political statement as anything. I just hate that I feel I should dye it.
IF I remember correctly, I believe you did a painting a few years ago of a cute gal with bright pink hair. You look like her!
With that wig, you look like you could double for Stephanie on one of my daughter's favourite kids' shows, 'Lazytown'.
It is not "grey."
What I see are beautiful silver moon kisses!
Of course, I henna my hair in summer ... so reds and mahoganys grace my locks in this season.
:)
Maybe you could try two different colors of highlights (a dark or medium value and a lighter value). The remaining gray will look like more highlights. The benefit is that you don't have to do it all that frequently (2-3 times a year) so less chemicals.
I colored my hair with nasty chemicals every 3-4 weeks for nearly 15 years....then I noticed that I was losing my hair at a drastic rate! Scared me enough to go to my doctor, and he said it was probably just a hormonal phase....but I didn't agree, and stopped dying my hair with chemicals as of that moment. I grew my hair out for a few months, and just didn't like its mousey brown with grey, so I tried henna....and LOVE IT! It is a myth that henna only comes in red... Lush Cosmetics has it in different colors, its been almost 3 years for me and my hair has never felt this lovely or looked this healthy!
