We all love painting in bright fun colors, I know I do! This class challenges us to try painting in soft pastel colors using a soft technique. I take you through the basics of blending these colours and prepping our canvas for a brand new style of art. I guide you through each painting, teaching as I paint in real time the technique of creating a soft painting. We explore how soft colors work together and how certain brush strokes can soften a painting. You will learn how to create TWO different types of portrait paintings and one beautiful abstract painting. All step by step instruction that is explained as I go. Work along with me create your very own soft style painting.
VIDEO 1: In our very first video I explain color mixing to create soft pastel colors. I also teach a lesson on how to sketch our simple young lady for our portrait painting.
VIDEO 2: In this video I show you how to prepare all three canvases so that they are ready to paint. We use modeling paste and collage in this video.
VIDEO 3: Now we begin painting our first painting. It is a soft portrait painting using the drawing techniques we learned and the mixing of soft colors. I take you step by step in real time from start to finish of this painting.
VIDEO 4: We begin work on our second painting. Another portrait, but this time we incorporate collage as a tool for texture and shadow. we learn how to use the text in the book pages to add contrast in the painting.
VIDEO 5: In our last class we create our very own abstract painting using the many different techniques with the help of found objects around the house. We learn to add different symbols and brush strokes. All put together in soft colors.
